Playing With The Boys

As a girl who loves football, I hear guys say it all the time:

“I have no idea what I’m talking about”
“Football is for the boys”
“Girls have no idea about what it takes to be a quarterback or play period”
“You’re just a fan girl…”

With that said here’s what I know:

There isn’t a position that comes with more pressure, demand or expectations than the guy playing under center each week.

Accuracy, anticipation, footwork, pocket presence, athleticism, decision making, mental toughness are seven traits that are must-haves; which makes a quarterback very intriguing to watch.

There’s offense plays I like, and there’s offense plays I don’t.

We’ll start to unwrap it in the Spring of 2022 with a podcast, book and a blog.

Don’t F*ck It Up!

If you are an avid football fan like myself, you loved watching the games this weekend. There was competition, drama, and your blood pressure probably was raised to the point where you literally screamed at the TV set. All that aside, it’s interesting to see how the girlfriends/wives of these football players react on social media, if they do at all.
It’s also interesting to note that NFL players and social sometimes don’t mix – and the excuses as to why they keep who they are with “private” is a catch 22.
For those players who are married, it’s obvious they don’t like it when fans go after their wives on Twitter or Instagram, and any fan that does that is a dickhead. But what got me thinking this weekend in terms of this, is when their guy (boyfriend or wife) is struggling on the field, seeing her stick up for him on social media proves 2 things 1) her loyalty to the man she is dating/married too, and 2) her love for him goes beyond the football field.

Think about it, Patrick Mahomes fiancee, gets criticized left and right for the way she defends her man and for what she posts. Does that stop her? Hell no! (And it never should stop her! She’s awesome!) You have Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly, always supporting her husband, on social media, then there is other girlfriends/wives that do the same.
Joey Burrow’s girlfriend is somewhat supportive on Instagram but not as supportive as I thought she would be. I mean, some girls take it to the extreme like Christian McCaffrey’s girlfriend does posting stupid selfies of herself for attention as does Dak Prescott’s girlfriend. Seriously, you have to wonder if that is the ONLY reason they are dating these guys? For the attention.

This makes me think of guys who are dating someone but have yet to post anything on social media. As I have said in the past, a player that is dating someone should not be using the excuse, “My private life is private” or, ” I keep close to my circle only” as an excuse why they don’t post about their girlfriends. IF an NFL player is not posting about his girlfriend or wife and only hiding you in their stories, that only means that he is trying to make it look as if he is single so they hoes can slide into his DMs.

REAL relationships aren’t a secret. And your partner should be PROUD that they are with you! That goes for HER as well- especially when he is struggling on the field and the fan base is attacking him left and right. Keeping hush-hush on social media and worse, having a private IG account only makes me question the relationship. I mean, if I were dating an NFL player and my guy was struggling, or the fan base was attacking him on social media, you bet your ass I would defend him and his ability and talent he has to be an NFL player. I would be so proud of him no matter what! If I was dating an athlete, I want to be his second priority. I want his first priority to be him, his ambitions, his life and his future, because seeing him happy makes me happy. Seeing him succeed pushes me to succeed. Finding happiness and security alone, are crucial to finding it together. There’s a difference between being secretive and keeping your dirty laundry off social media.

Then there are girls who post things to Tiktok, like, ” An NBA player slid into my DMS and now I am sitting courtside… ” Girls always bragging about being the main chick. Try being the only chick. Stop letting guys (players) use you and disrespect you. The funny thing with this post was all the comments telling her she ain’t the only one. Girls allow this to happen, time and time again. Girls wanting to a be side chick, like an appetizer, Instead of respecting themselves as the main course.

They sliding in but only those who play for keeps get me. I ain’t no man’s side course. I am THE chick. Maybe that’s because I am older so I am wiser than these girls in their 20s who act foolish. And A LOT of athletes especially those who are young don’t understand that having many women isn’t a flex, but having that 1 woman no one can touch is. But many boys don’t understand the difference between quality and quantity.

So, there are a few NFL players who anonymously answered my questions about dating and women. Here are a few of those answers. The rest will be part of my exclusive podcast “Relationship Impossible” part 2 – coming in February.

Player 1: If you take pride in your clothes and your looks you are going to take care of me. Just my thoughts.

Player 2: I am sick of gold diggers, I have a Victorian style house and several sports cars, but I attract women for some reason who only lavish in that lifestyle. I am not looking to spend all my money on bottles of champagne and the new products that hit the market.

Player3: Look around the league, many players get caught up in drama and it eventually leads to an arrest, or problem. I just want a normal relationship where we value one another. (Note, This is the SAME guy that then says he wants to date a girl because she’s “hot” or “more famous” than he is. If you want a “normal” relationship, how about you guys get off the dating apps and just date a normal girl? – Ya know, those girls who work hard, play hard, and are loyal as fuck?)

In closing let me mention the players that scrub clean their IG’s – Every time they have a new team, or drop a new stupid song, or are trying to “rebrand” themselves- my question is, why? Scrubing clean your IG isn’t going to scrub away the fact that you played for a different team, that your fashion was questionable, that you look like you only care about materialistic things, etc. Scrubbing it clean makes you look insecure and ashamed of your past. What about the players that scrub clean an ex? This here, is different. TO be able to fully move on from an ex you need to mentally, physically, emotionally move on from someone. Getting rid of posts of you together, is allowing all the negative out and letting you manifest the positive into your life. But oh, don’t be stupid and follow your ex on Instagram though… if you really want to move on, move on completely. They don’t need to see your IG stories, and you don’t need to see theirs either.

Relationships are hard. Stop making them harder.

Open For Business! (and other cool updates!)

Just Brew It Is Open For Business
Follow On Instagram!

I’m excited to announce that I have added to my businesses ( yes, I have another one folks!) with my coffee brand: Just Brew It Gourmet Coffee!
It’s so exciting! I really do LOVE coffee. That is not me being dramatic- I literally LIVE for it. It’s funny yes, but it’s my hustle juice. Now, I am not that coffee drinker that drinks like 4-5 cups… oh no, you’d have to peel me off the ceiling if I did that! But it definitely keeps me moving.

During the pandemic I started to look at what my passions were and what other type of businesses I could add to my “Sassy” line. I tried clothing for a while, and yes, I made a few sales, but clothing is quite expensive to keep up with, and on Instagram and Facebook in order to have a “shop” the website for which you sell it needs to the website you sell it from- meaning that I was not the one manufacturing the products and to purchase it you were going to a different website and not staying on mine.

Anyhow, I got a book on coffee and was reading up on it, I was an influencer for this coffee brand and I also was watching a few Christmas movies that inspired me to think to myself, “First off, why am I helping someone else make money off of coffee when I can do it myself?” And I drink a ton of coffee that never really tastes fresh since it’s on the shelves for a long time or the coffee shops you got to have expensive coffee that tasted altered- so I thought maybe I could have a brand of coffee that would be gourmet that folks could make at home or in the office and not have to go to expensive coffee places to get it. Bottom line is this: I roast the beans myself, then I grind them, and then I package them together. I sell K-pods and ground. Click here to go to the website

Here is the coffee after I grind it.

The Recordings Of A Fangirl #sarcasm

I hate the term “Fangirl.”

I also hate it when girls are called groupies or for those girls who love hockey, they are called “puckbunnies.”

It’s not a compliment.

So “Fangirl” or “fangirling” is not, in and of itself a sexist term. Nor does a man using it guarantee it is meant as anything other than a description. Can it be sexist? Sure. It can be meant dismissively or as a slur. I’ve seen women trash talk “fanboys” as well.

Intent is definitely the main part of the equation. If a guy looks at a panel room, a bar full of girls watching a game and shakes his head while muttering “fangirls” …yeah, he’s probably being sexist.

I always feel the need to defend myself when that term is used to pigeon-hole me. Why? Haven’t you heard? Fangirls are crazy, obsessive, desperate, shallow, hysterical females, who only care about the attractiveness of the athletes in question. What would they know about sports?

I have developed a podcast called, “The Recordings Of A Fangirl #Sarcasm” to talk about girlie things, sports, dating, athletes, and my usual sassy rants are part of it. These will be a bonus if you subscribe to my podcast “Sassy Nation”

NFL Players Don’t Know Anything About Love

Over the past week and a half I have seen at least 5 athletes post the famous bible verse of “Love is patient” except they never post the entire verse, they end it with “It keeps no record of wrongs,” BUT that is not the entire verse, so here is it in it’s entirety which is 1 of my favorite verses:

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part,  but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.  When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

It’s ironic that NFL players and other athletes post up to the “wrong doing” but do they really understand UNDERSTAND what they are posting or are they just posting for likes?

Here is what all the athletes who post this verse miss the boat on:

In the now-famous “Love Chapter” of 1 Corinthians, Paul wrote about love that is put into practice. More than just a feeling or emotion, Paul writes less about what love is and more about what love does. Transformed by the love of Jesus Christ, this kind of love should be a natural overflow of the believer’s heart and evident in everything they do. Unfortunately, for the Corinthian church, this was not always the case.  The words used in 1 Corinthians 13 to describe love are the kind of active verbs Paul was challenging the Corinthian church to adopt: patience, kindness, humility, forgiveness, trust, hope, and perseverance. Love, Paul argued, was the greatest outward testimony of their inward transformation.

At the beginning of 1 Corinthians 13, Paul writes, “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal” (1 Corinthians 13:1). He then goes on to say that if Christians are able to prophesy, can understand the mysteries of the universe, and give to the poor but ultimately lack love, their actions are meaningless, and there is no spiritual gain. Love must be at the root of everything Christians do and evident in their actions.

It’s more about your ACTIONS than your WORDS. And in the world of social media, the NFL players (and other athletes) certainly just know how to talk the talk when they hardly walk the walk.

The Wait Is Over!

The wait is OVER! Pre-order #Ebook form only: “Relationship Impossible”

What people don’t realize about dating apps in general is that you need a lot of swipes to get a match, a lot of matches to get a number, a lot of numbers to get a date and a lot of dates to get a third date.
Dating sites are good at baiting people to try them out. They lie about how many active members they truly have, use fake profiles….. But, remember, just because it is popular, doesn’t mean it actually works!
In this book, we will divide in, head first, on the hook-up culture, dating apps, social media, and also discuss some serious topics such a dating violence, gaslighting, ghosting, stalking, and more.

We will also discuss professional athletes and their use of social media and dating apps.

The Crazy Folks Are Found On Tinder

As I get my upcoming book in order, I had to go back on dating apps. Yikes! So Here are a couple “winners” I found as to what type of guy you find on dating apps, I mean hook up apps, like Tinder:

Bull, 38
Tall. Sane. Clean. Educated. Repectfully dominant and well eqipped. Thorough. Verbal, Love roleplay or fantasy. We only have 1 life to live. ( Sounds like someone who is looking for that girl who wants to hook up and just head on over to the bedroom, or hotel room and get some and then it’s onto the next.)

Leo, 41
Married dad looking for a submissive to have my way with. ( MARRIED… Hello? Do I need say more?)

Hammond, 41

Online dating is so hard when you’re a truthful person. I feel like it makes you savage and makes you jaded. Most don’t read the profile because all they are looking for is sex and I’m not on here for that. (Sounds like he is trying to sound like he’s not interested in hooking up but then why is he even on this app that is all about the hook up?)

Kevin, 34

6’3 = I’m taller than you! I’m not going to remember that I have this app about after 2 months, but message me and I’ll get an alerty and check it.
Giving this a try because Covid makes it impossible to meet people the old fashion way.
“You look so much cuter with something in your mouth” I hate Nickelback but once in awhile they get it right. ( So, Covid is making it impossible to meet people BUT yet, here he is trying to get a hook up online. Yay! Let’s have a-kind-of-hook-up-on-Zoom-or-Facetime! )

Zack, 30

I got a B+ on Human Sexuality in College. So let’s just say that I know my way around a *checks poorly scribbled notes*

Clitoris ( And Zack’s profile picture of him half naked in a pool, where do I sign up? – That’s Sarcasm Folks.)

And …. yes, not only do guys have poor choice of words in these bios, but their profile pictures are another thing all together. The sad thing is, women are falling for this crap day in and day out or they wouldn’t have that many subscribers to the app.

As one guy put it, “With these dating apps, he says, “you’re always sort of prowling. You could talk to two or three girls at a bar and pick the best one, or you can swipe a couple hundred people a day – the sample size is so much larger. It’s setting up two or three Tinder dates a week and, chances are, sleeping with all of them, so you could rack up 100 girls you’ve slept with in a year.” – ( and let’s add the spread of STD’s, other diseases, and yes, unwanted pregnancies.)

If you seriously think about it rock stars and professional athletes have enjoyed easily accessible casual sex for decades. Now with these apps, access to all these women who want to just “do it” makes it one thousand times easier. Tinder allow everyone to seek brief validation in the form of casual sex with a stranger. Why do women, who in the age of “Me Too,” want to play the game by the guys rules? What women on Tinder have not realized yet is the fact that men you meet on Tinder most likely are not available; look at the list above, just about all those bios I listed maybe one guy is “available” for a relationship.

Remember ladies, no matter how good you are in the sack, you are not going to turn a casual sex with a guy into a meaningful relationship- EVER. The guy will remember you, There are 3 types of women in a guy’s mind:

The hook up 2am girl – they would never date or have a long term relationship with her only sex. (These are those girls who are also “good in the sack” )

Friend Zone – if you aren’t attracted to each other then it’s going to be impossible to get out of the friend zone.

Wife material- He sees that you are smart, attractive and he sees that you have a lot to offer.

Do you really think these apps are going to make a guy look for wife material?

If you’re looking for a serious relationship, but you allow someone into your life in a “casual way,” then that’s what you get. If you instead hold out for someone who is also looking for the commitment you are, then you’ll get that instead.

The choice is up to you. Choose wisely.

Football For Dummies ( AKA The Jets Fans)

If there is one group of football fans that surely know how to make me want to vomit, it’s the NY Jets Fans. They head over to social media, mostly Twitter and Facebook, where they boast about their own team losing in hopes of the number pick. I read the guys tweets. I read the guys posts. And then I either want to throw up or bang my head against the wall; it’s a toss up, really.

This fan base is one of the most fickle fan bases I have ever seen. They get all excited when they draft guys they “think” are going to muster up to the expectations and boo the draft picks that actually become great NFL players for other teams, since they dump them quickly. This organization has looked like it has no idea what it has been doing since the last time they won a Superbowl which was 1969. We have seen this organization embarrass itself in more ways than one. There were moments like, Jets legend Joe Namath made a fool of himself (and the franchise) on Dec. 20, 2003 when he drunkenly told ESPN’s Suzy Kolber, “I want to kiss you, I could care less about the team struggling” during a sideline interview. There was Bill Belichick announcing he was resigning as head coach of the New York Jets by writing a note on a napkin. During a game in December 2010, then-Jets strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi intentionally tripped Dolphins punt returner Nolan Carroll along the sideline. Not a great look, really. The Jets suffered a brutal loss to the Dolphins on November 27, 1994, thanks to Dan Marino’s Clock Play.” In 2015, former Jets quarterback and first-round pick Geno Smith was punched in the face by teammate IK Enemkpali over $600. I mean, I seriously can go on…. and on. But nothing can top those things than seeing the fan base root AGAINST their OWN team and giving up so soon on players developing.

For all the fans that seem to think they know everything here is a little football lesson between college football and the NFL.

First of all the preparation and dedication to the game must be absolute in order to sustain success for a long period of time in the NFL. This is probably the most crucial difference between college and the pros.

The best professional football players learn how to dissect the game and their opponents long before they take the field. College athletes never have the luxury of going so in-depth. So, essentially everyone in college is on a relatively even playing field in terms of preparation.

College football is equalized in preparation opportunity, while the NFL is generally more equalized in physical ability. Guys in the league quickly realize they can no longer rely solely on their physical gifts to be dominant.

The width of the fields are not the same thing. This is the granddaddy issue, and one people never think about. Yes, in a literal sense, pro and college fields are the same width (53 1/3 yards). But in a strategic sense, they’re wildly different. Hashmarks dictate where the ball is spotted. In the NFL, they’re 18 feet, 6 inches apart. In college, they’re 40 feet apart. This means the pro game always begins near the middle of the field, with relatively equal spacing on both sides. That makes for a crisp, tight game, with (initially) balanced formations and coverages.

It’s difficult to compare coaches in college to coaches in the NFL. They are similar yet completely different at the same time. There are a lot of things to take into account when comparing the two – they might be coaching the same sport, but each is an entirely separate world with unique challenges-

Remember, Trevor Lawrence isn’t coming to the NFL with his QB coach, his head coach, his OL, or his WRs. He also needs to learn a completely new offense and gain chemistry with an entire new OL and with his WRs.

Let me remind of you of the TOP QB prospects that NEVER made it in the NFL:

1) Jason White
2) Graham Harrell
3) Johnny Manziel
4) Ryan Leaf
5) Kellen Moore
6) Colt McCoy ( he’s the back up for the Giants- but he never made it as a franchise QB)
7) Case Keenum
8) Eric Crouch

The point being, just because all the “experts” say that Trevor Lawrence is amazing, doesn’t mean that it will translate to the NFL. Remember they have been wrong MANY times before.

Also, Andrew Luck was deemed, the most elite QB since Peyton Manning. He NEVER won a Super Bowl.

You are hoping that “maybe” Trevor will live up to all the hype, while giving up on Sam who definitely has what it takes to be a Franchise QB. Jets fans gave up on Leonard Williams, look at him with the Giants this year – he has 39 tackles and 8.5 sacks so far.
Look at Quentin Williams , you all thought he was trash last year – my point is that fans give up too soon on players and expect that they are going to be perfect the minute they step on the NFL field. Sam Darnold has never had a complete team BUILT around him. Now is the time to do this and build around the small core of players that the team has! He also needs a QB coach that is not going to let him make the same mistakes, and also a coach that is going to highlight his strengths.

Investing in your franchise QB is a business move and if they decide they don’t want to pay him just for that reason alone, then they are not investing in winning. They are in the business of winning and you can’t win if you keep dumping your draft picks 2/3 years later and “start over”, or as Jets fans like to constantly say, “Start Fresh”

You all will look FOOLISH if by chance Joe Douglas does trade Sam and he succeeds somewhere else and Trevor Lawrence doesn’t look so perfect anymore out of that Clemson jersey.

So be careful what you wish for.

Putting your eggs into one basket never works out in your favor.

Ever.
