Cheating, Athletes and Social Media

I woke up yesterday morning and did what I usually do, open up the Twitter app to see what was trending, as what good social media experts and content creators do. Seeing two hockey players trending: Connor McDavid and Sammy Bilas and then looked up as to why they both were trending. I knew from some of the posts that it was not about hockey. I did not have to look that far to find out that Connor McDavid has a video surfacing of him drunk holding the hand of a girl and walking with her-and this girl was NOT his girlfriend Lauren Kyle.

Now, I have trashed NFL players for years on relationships and have always said that hockey players are the best athletes – they are genuine, appreciative of the fans, and just plain more fun. But that does not mean that you are going to have some guys who are NHL athletes do what guys everywhere do: cheat on their wives or girlfriends. Note: this is why some NFL players think they are being “smart” by not putting whom they are dating in their IG feeds or posts on Twitter. Two reasons: first, if there is no “proof” no one can say that they are technically “cheating” and secondly, it leaves the door wide open to sleep with as many girls as humanly possible. (Which is why you see the girl they are with in their stories- that shit disappears in 24 hours)

Back to Connor McDavid now. Everyone knows that he has been dating Lauren for quite a while. You’d have to be living under a rock on Mars to not know that he was taken. As I said on Twitter, girls do better research than the FBI; we all know your situations whether you post about them or not. With social media it’s 10x easier to figure stuff out AND there are tons of websites that actually keep track of this sort of thing. ( PLUG: Who dated who ) So, us girls know what the story is and you know what, sometimes we play stupid to it just to see what you guys are going to do. Yes, dogs can’t outsmart foxes. And some of you guys are dogs- and that term is not meant as a compliment.

Connor has NO excuse to cheat on his girlfriend. But as I have found out over time, some guys are just never happy with what they have, who they are with, and they are constantly searching for better when they already had the best. You see that A LOT with NFL players. They are never satisfied with anything. They need more money, more materialistic things, and more women. Am I surprised that a wholesome guy like Connor cheated? No. But I don’t want to hear him say, “I was drunk and had no idea what I was doing or where I was,” the video clearly shows that he did not like the fact that someone videoed him. He has to know that he is seen as public figure and whatever you do in public is fair game. He also has to know that people are going to recognize him without his uniform on too. Also, guys cheat out of anger, jealousy, or a desire for revenge. Even if their partner hasn’t cheated on them but instead if they’ve done something to upset their partner. And if you check Lauren Kyle’s IG, the last picture she posted was her in the WAG jacket at this game, so yeah they were together. Most couples scrub their social media when they break up. ( Note: if you don’t know what WAG means it refers to wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportsmen)

But what I also said on Twitter is that the girl who held him hand and walked with him, and God only knows what else they did that night, deserves as much shit as he is getting because she had to know who he was and that he was taken. I don’t want her to give an excuse that she didn’t know, especially with the crowd surrounding him and the fact that someone shouted out his name. Girls know three things: 1) If the guy is taken 2) Where they hang out and 3) how to be seen. Watching the video for like the hundredth time- she knew what she was doing. I also want to state something about Lauren Kyle and social media:- It is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to tag her in responses on Twitter and IG talking about what Connor did. Have some dignity and also respect for her please. She’s not the one who cheated, she’s the one who got cheated on. Know the difference. As to dating athletes, this does not change my view on hockey players at all. I still think they are most down to earth guys on the planet, having met my share of them.

Switching gears, let me briefly touch on Sammy Blais for a moment. His sister supposedly graduated from either grad school or colllege and posted a picture of herself on IG. Sammy commented underneath, “Sexy babe” and the world lost its freaking ass mind! If you have a sibling then you know that siblings have inside jokes, pick on each other, and like to cause trouble with each other. Also the word sexy does not always entail looks but confidence. You all look like asses for making a terrible assumption.

Mistakes NFL Teams Make When Drafting A QB

With the NFL Draft about 43 days away, you can bet that there will be some quarterbacks that will be drafted on day one. It’s definitely exciting when a team drafts a QB – simply because it is a brand new start for your team/ organization. Looking back as to some quarterbacks that have been drafted in year’s past; it is definitely smart to say that teams make mistakes when they draft a quarterback.

1- If I was an offensive coordinator in the NFL and I drafted a QB, I am making sure that I pay a visit to his college head coach to learn his playbook and the schemes that I can then use in the NFL to have my new QB ready as a rookie. So many teams ignore the college playbook and have the quarterback start from scratch with a completely new offense his first year.

2- Some NFL teams appear to be making an obvious mistake by taking quarterbacks who have good physical traits — like size, speed, and arm strength — but who struggle with the mental and mechanical skills — like accuracy, reading defenses, and making sound decisions when it comes to throwing the football.

3- Scouting is an inexact science; which means that experts disagree on the seemingly simple question of whether or not a quarterback is accurate. The decision to draft any player begins with the decision to have a scout evaluate that player in college. But the methods used for quarterbacks haven’t changed much in the past thirty to forty years, even as the NFL has changed drastically. This means that when a scout is sent to evaluate a quarterback, they mostly emphasize height, weight, and speed. Teams assume they can fix any mental problems and throwing mechanics to a greater extent than is possible.

4- There is a HUGE drop off in stats from college to the pros. Fans mostly see how a QB played in college and think those stats will occur in the NFL. The factors that are never considered as to how a QB coming out of college will play in the NFL are the offensive line play, production of receivers, opposing defenses, or coaches. People tend to forget that a quarterback needs to be developed in the NFL. College and the Pros are two different beasts and each player has their ow timeline as to when they will be “fully developed.” It’s also important to note, that the above, ( Offensive line play, talent of the receivers, and coaching play a big part in how well the drafted quarterback will play in the NFL.)

Coming on Friday, I will start the blog / podcast part of “Playing With The Boys” and breakdown Zach Wilson. ( There will be a video posted too)

The Diary of A Social Gal- part whatever

If you missed the post last week, where I had an open letter to Jack Dorsey because of how he treats people on his platform and how he also runs it, then this week is about Tiktok and how the bots that run the platform are basically running it on key words.

You are being naive and stupid to think that people actually run every single social media platform- they don’t. They have bots that ONLY look for key words and that is why so many accounts are banned and suspended. They don’t look at the tweet, post or video that might need to be taken down, no, that’s too logical. They let the bots and the AI take care of their platform which causes most account unnecessary banning and/or suspending.

So, Tiktok “banned” my account yesterday because I talked about “Only Fans” while I searched the platform this morning and found multiple porn wannabe accounts on their platform. ( PS Only fans is not just porn wannabes, there are photographers, comedians, and podcasts that use that platform!) See, they don’t look at videos that obviously need to be banned, they only search through key words which is the way I tested this out yesterday. Truth is I was going to delete this account and start over anyway because I never really did TikTok the way it should have been done, I only used it to see what was trending and what everyone was talking about. Even Tiktok’s system of appealing is based on bots too.

I am actually not on Twitter that much at all anymore and it’s wonderful. I go on sparingly to make sure folks that I enjoyed talking to know where to follow me on other platforms and I now reached out to the top few investors of Twitter to let them know how Twitter is a mess and what they are investing in.

An Open Letter To Jack Dorsey

Dear Jack,

Your social media platform is a complete mess! You have bullies and trolls spewing hate, racism, sexism; making it nearly impossible to engage on your platform. You have nudity and folks performing sexual acts on your platform and also tons of spammers. As a user since 2010 AND a Stock holder I am APPLAUDED! ( I also use your other platform Square and have stock in that as well)

It took you years to upgrade the platform as well. From 180 characters to 240. Then you decided to add other features such as Ads, While you are away feature, turned the favorite button into the like button, added a change to its feed, making recommended tweets the default option, you add the “Explore” tab, which replaces the “Moments” tab and you purchased Periscope, which is no longer.

You then added features called fleets and spaces which most can’t even use because of the fault in your design. You have something called Twitter Blue, which is a paid version of Twitter, and you refused to give folks an edit button, unless now they pay for it, but that option is not available in the US yet. You also want to add shopping features to your site, which mostly is a waste because people don’t use your platform to shop, they use the platform to converse. Which makes it crystal clear, you don’t even understand HOW your platform even works and you so far behind all the other social media platforms it’s ridiculous!

You develop Fleets, which is like stories, have no place to store them when they run out, I can’t even access them from my Iphone or Ipad only from my Itouch. I can’t access your “Clubhouse” look alike called Spaces, so I can’t promote podcasts, marketing strategies and so forth.
You won’t give folks an edit button using the excuse that they will abuse it. Have you EVER been on Facebook at all? Do you know that once you edit a post it states that the post was EDITED? You can’t do that on Twitter?

Have you ever heard of Tiktok, Reels and Shorts? Do you not understand that folks make videos using licensed music? Guess what most folks do with those videos… they SHARE THEM TO TWITTER!

Why? To increase traffic to their platforms, the increase views and also give their audience on Twitter something to watch.

So explain to me WHY you allow hate, racism, sexism and nudity but suspend accounts that share their REELS and TIKTOKS to your platform? Your Artificial Intelligence / algorthim is way out of date and DMCA needs to be changed IMMEDIATELY – It’s NOT unauthorized activity, since the music is ALLOWED on INSTAGRAM and TIKTOK. Universal Music Group (UMG), also needs to be aware of this since now most people are making videos with music on Instagram, Tiktok and now Youtube with Shorts.

It is horrendous to treat people like criminals for using MUSIC that is ALLOWED on OTHER platforms.

You then remove the so called “violation” before folks can even see it. How can you expect folks to know what they did if you are removing the post/tweet prior to having the person see it?
You then send them NO notification on the app itself, but a sneaky email telling them that they have a violation, which really is NOT a violation since EVERY SITE is using LICENSED music!

The quality of your platform has gone DOWNHILL!
you say we have freedom to speak our mind while you censor people who don’t agree with you!

Are you aware that is what communism is all about?

Not to mention that your platform favors men over women. You have an issue with your algorthim cropping out black faces. And how long does it take to get rid of folks who are having sex on your platform? Literally, there are folks advertising their “only fans” with SEX acts ON YOUR platform! There are teens on your platform- they should not have to witness that activity, which belongs on Pornhub, not Twitter.

I can really go on, but the main problem is suspending my account over music that was used from a different platform such as Instagram, and sharing my reel on your platform. I am asked if I want to share it on YOUR platform and then you SUSPEND me for doing that?

As a stock holder, I demand that you give me back my account: @sweetstephanie7 – it took me YEARS to build that up after I was FORCED to close another account due to bullying. And right now, it’s impossible to build up followers on your platform since you favor men over women.

Do the right thing and also educate yourself on how social media platforms work and grow. If you need help, I’d be more than happy to help you as I have been a social media expert since 2008.
