Stay Sassy

This is an unusual blog post of Stephanie’s Sassy Corner…

I’m not going to be giving you advice on dating, on social media or even give you my 2 cents about football, or whatever else I throw into the fire. You see I have spent the past fifteen years becoming a expert in helping you understand how dating apps are only good at creating nightmares in your life, how social media has transformed business and of course you have my view on just about everything sports related ( mostly football)… I wanted to give you something that was different and out of the box. But now I see that as a broadcaster (that is what a content creator/podcaster is on social media) that we shouldn’t always be doing things that are trending but to do things that are valuable and post content that is REAL, RELEVANT and RELATABLE!
I have always been my real, sassy, blunt self on each and every podcast and blog piece that I have written, but now with that said, I am rebranding and refocusing my content so it stands for something that has clarity around my identity, narrative and purpose. Not only will I also stay real, relevant and relatable, but I will do it in a much different way.

I realize that even though I enjoy my podcasts, writing my blogs and social media posts, there was nothing from that they brought me instant joy. From now on, I want to live and enjoy every moment when I do my shows and write my blog posts and even do social media. I don’t want to waste time just doing it for the sake of doing it. So I will still talk about dating, dating apps, social media and of course NFL Football, it will be done in much different way!

Sassy Nation will still be the same day, Tuesdays and it will still be an audio only podcast.
The Sassy Show which is presented my Rockland World Radio which I have done live streamed on Facebook, will be moving to Youtube every other week on a Thursday.
The Recordings of A Fangirl #Sarcasm will now be an online entertainment show WITH video each week on Fridays. I will have some audio after show comments that will be just for subscribers.

And the Playing with the Boys podcast, will be a Twitter Space on Wednesday Afternoons.

I hope you will join me on my platforms and the way I do them change this week.
I no longer will be on Instagram – you can follow me on the following:

Tiktok

Exclusive BTS from a GirlBoss

Everyone always says to me, “It must be so nice to be your own boss.” My answer to that loaded statement is quite simple: No it isn’t. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get to do what I love to do and do it on my own terms. But what people don’t see and don’t know is that it takes ALL of me to do it day in and day out. No two days look the same.

For my new series ( here on the blog and on Instagram and Twitter) I will show you pictures and videos of me being the “girlboss” that I am.

Now, I start out most days the SAME way with Prayer, working out and feeding my squirrels and birds. The only day that I have off from working out is Friday.

The prayers I say each day are different too. But the top 2 prayers are the 2 I say every morning.
Working out is so important. It’s not about “just” the body,
it’s also good for the soul and your mental state. I will show you my workouts on Instagram and Twitter FYI
I feed the squirrels and birds each morning. I have literally trained the squirrels to knock when I am “late” and the birds wait for me on deck (sometimes so do the squirrels)
This was my Tuesday breakfast. I don’t eat a “big one”. I eat usually at 10am and it’s something that is going to keep me energized and geared to work until lunch. BTW I already had my coffee, I just didn’t take a photo of it!
Don’t forget to drink water throughout the morning. Especially after you workout and during the summer when it’s easy to get dehydrated!
Now I go and check out Twitter and see what is trending. This is usually where I go to see what topics I should talk about on my podcast and radio show.
Now I am working on my new logo for Just Brew It Gourmet Coffee.
Also am working on putting together the menu and a fundraiser for my cheerleading squad I coach.
The next thing is to start learning how to use my new toy. If you want to know HOW to create videos that are awesome for social media, here’s a tip: go to Staples and get the gear you need. It’s not as expensive as you think.
Now, I need to pay some bills. YUCK! But they don’t pay themselves, unfortunately.
I turn off the computer now, actually put it in sleep mode, and head to the tablet to do some work. I check out Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest next. I also see what is trending on Tiktok.
I take a break from the screens and go see if I need to water my garden.
I grow all kinds of things, this is the picture of my mini pumpkins that I hope I have for my nephew and niece for Halloween.
Shopping break. I need to get my new planner. I plan out each day and it helps to have it written down. I used to be a teacher so I still love teacher plan books.
Still a favorite sight, look at all the clean and new notebooks!
I go home and make lunch now. Here I am having a salad with watermelon, chicken, tomatoes and more. And yes, they are fries that I made- not fast food ones.
Time to plan my cheer conditioning program. I am planning out my cheer body fitness which will be available on Youtube and for a small payment – anyone can do it. I have many workouts that you don’t need equipment.
MY afternoon snack.
Before I head out to do some cheer body fitness in person with my rec teams, I had to make changes to my book, “Relationship Impossible”
Came back from cheerleading conditioning so a light dinner.
Pasta salad- homemade.
And these are sweet and sour veggies and pineapple! After dinner I showered and then it was time to just relax before bed. No devices. Stay tuned for the next blog post for some more BTS for Wednesday!

Stop Trusting Viral Videos

You go on Facebook or Twitter and there you see a video of folks involved in some type of dispute.

You are automatically outraged! How could this be happening? You comment on every news media outlet on social media and you post it to your own profile.

Guess what?

You are part of the problem that is happening on social media platforms everywhere; you are judging based on ONE VIDEO you saw without seeing the entire incident!

The parts of the video that seem to ALWAYS be posted are the parts that are the “juicy” details that the media knows will have outrage follow.

When multiple videos present multiple possible truths, which one is to be believed? This is the question most don’t ask themselves BEFORE they judge a video. When do they ask this? Most ask this once they realize that they are being duped by the mass media for a reaction that fits their agenda.

Not only this, but on social media it’s so easy to do two things: 1) Lie and 2) Be anonymous. This can especially be done on Twitter. Twitter today has turned into a place you go when you just need to know the gossip and only do it with folks who believe the same as you do. When you find an “outsider” you attack. This is just what the mass media loves and wants. They love tweets from folks who fit their agenda. Right now they love folks who are against the President and all those people who are for him. He is the enemy and they are fighting this battle with their pose on Twitter. When will these folks realize that this can quickly turn against them?

I was ecstatic to see that Twitter suspended the account of the person who started the latest viral lie. But that doesn’t stop these folks because just as quick as they are to get suspended, they can turn around and create a new account. I have said this many times on my radio show, and I probably will say it a million times more; social media was NOT designed for political conversations nor is it the place where folks should be getting their news from. With so many bloggers who have an ax to grind, and folks who believe anything that they are selling, the internet has made it difficult to understand what it true and what is false.

The add the point, on Facebook this week, a woman created a post saying that a certain number of kids went home cancer free, and she wanted folks to share it so she did what you are “supposed to” do, she said, “ I bet you won’t share this!” Boom- over 1 million folks shared it WITHOUT researching just how true the post actually was/is. I can tell you that if kids who had cancer went home cancer free, and it was a huge number, the mass media would cover it. That is a heartwarming story and they do still cover those, especially on social media.

In closing, I will just give this advice to all who are on social media: 1) Be careful what you write and put out there. It can always come back to bite you later. 2) When mixing personal with business, be smart about it. This means not to incorporate politics and religion as those 2 topics can wipe out half your clientele. And finally, 3) Look at social media more as an investment, not just an activity. (Especially if you are a brand or business)

Why Is It Important To Support My Brand?

When a consumer supports their local business owners, they enjoy the
benefits they can’t possibly get from shopping at national chains.

When you personally know the people behind the business where you’re buying
local products and services, you enjoy a connection you would not
otherwise have. You celebrate their ups and also encourage their downs.
This personal investment isn’t present with a big corporation or chain
store. Local businesses give a community its flavor. My brand is
different from any chain or corporation out there. I know the products
you buy or the services you request on a regular basis and can tailor
those services to make your experience even better.

Being a female entrepreneur, and being passionate about what I do, makes
me want to reach my brand, ideas and products outward to a bigger
audience. I put myself into my work and create something that’s
enjoyable on multiple levels. I want to create a connection with my
audience not only through my podcast, but through my books, my social
media services and the products I will sell. Sassy Productions is owned
and operated by your neighbor! I care about and invest in the
well-being of my community and its future. Local businesses are more
accountable to their local communities and donate more money to
non-profits. Besides having my company and brand donate to local
charities, I also want to be able to reach a greater audience and help
in any way I can through having my brand supported with your help.

This is why this kickstarter is so important to me. It’s more than just
having a dream fulfilled. It’s also being able to reach out and knowing
that small businesses do not always stay small – hence why corporations
are developed through the priceless support of local and small
businesses. We need to make sure we publicize and highlight the
successes of female entrepreneurs. Role models are a motivators and many
women who own a small business, are seeked out by young girls and offer
them mentorship and investment in their ideas. Nothing would make me
happier than to help other women reach their potential too.

Just The Dirt: My Story

I am an author, blogger and private consultant in Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing. She is the Founder and CEO of Sassy Productions, Inc. a Rockland County Online Social Media, Book writing/publishing and Blogging agency, since 2006. My book, “Hello Love, Where’s Cupid? 2nd Edition was a nominee for Book of the Year, for Writer’s Digest and for The Library Association of Rockland. The book discusses online dating ( the first social media sites) and the downfalls social media has brought to relationships.

I have over 8 years client Digital Marketing and Blogging experience in helping corporations such as JcPenney, American Idol, and AT&T, and countless others use the web to drive online visibility and generate leads that have resulted in new business online. I manage the Social Media Repuation and Digital Marketing Strategy for top clientele of Rockland County businesses. I also have blogged for numerous webistes. I am part of SheKnows Media and part of BNI.

As a Digital Marketing Expert, I have developed and delivered workshops  in the areas of Social Media Marketing through use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram , Pinterest, and Youtube. I also have given bloggers tips of the trade and has worked with bloggers overseas.

With that inside information as to who I am, I am running a Kickstarter to get backers and supportive pledges to back my brand so I can expand it.

In 2008, my brand, which was named back then, SassygirlPR, was formed. I worked on developing it and molding it for the past nine years.

Today my brand is called, Sassy Productions Inc., and it has expanded and has grown 500%. That’s due to my hard work, perseverance, determination and my ability to grasp creative ideas to turn them into actual products.

This project is a two-fold and it’s one of my best ones to date. To develop a talk show/podcast, where I can take my blogging to a higher level, and also use it to promote other businesses, besides mine, is the ultimate challenge. The second part, besides being able to not only produce another book and be able to have a book tour with the book, tie it in the show, is as awesome as it can get.

To use the rewards I have listed here as a demo as to how my brand can expand is also an additional bonus.

By having you support this project, you support my brand. By you supporting my brand, you help me expand it and have a dream fulfilled. How can it get better than that?

You are the bread and butter of my brand, and that from my very core, I thank you.
